Before seeking an abortion procedure, you need to know if your pregnancy is viable.  If your pregnancy is not viable, medical attention is appropriate through a doctor’s office or emergency room rather than at an abortion clinic.  How do you know your pregnancy will continue?  According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a non-viable pregnancy means that your pregnancy is not growing normally and may end in pregnancy loss (ACOG FAQ090).

Before considering an abortion, a free ultrasound at the PRC can help determine if you have an abnormal pregnancy such as a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.  Miscarriage is a relatively common experience, occurring in 10-20% of early pregnancies (Mayo Clinic, 2013).  Most miscarriages happen before the 12th week.  In a miscarriage, the fetus does not develop normally, and no heart rate can be detected on ultrasound.

PRC GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN PROVIDES FREE ABORTION INFORMATION, PREGNANCY TESTS, AND ULTRASOUNDS (SOME RESTRICTIONS) AS WELL AS LOW-COST STD TESTING AND TREATMENT.  WE ARE HAPPY TO TALK MORE WITH YOU.
